Last updated: 26 August 2026. This page is product information for review, not legal advice. It describes the current development behavior of Jira Release Notes Lite and may be updated before public launch.
What the app accesses
The app reads Jira Cloud data using the read:jira-work scope and the permissions and identity of the signed-in Jira user. It uses the selected project, JQL or version, and issue fields needed to generate a draft. Access is subject to Jira’s permissions and the app’s configured limits.
The app does not create, update, or delete Jira issues, versions, projects, comments, or other Jira data.
Deterministic mode
In deterministic mode, generation stays within the Forge/Jira execution path. The app formats the selected Jira results into Markdown and does not send the result to an external AI provider.
The current design does not use an app-hosted issue database for release-note history. Generated text is shown for the user to edit, copy, or download; do not treat the app as a permanent archive.
Optional AI processing
AI processing happens only after the user explicitly selects an AI-assisted mode. Customer AI excludes issue descriptions and caller-supplied Markdown; it sends only structured issue keys, summaries, and grouping fields to OpenAI for rewriting.
Technical mode is explicitly for internal output. It may include sensitive issue descriptions only after the user confirms that choice in the app. Do not select it for confidential content unless your team has approved that processing.
This page does not make a zero-retention, training, regional-processing, or similar OpenAI promise. Review the applicable OpenAI terms and privacy documentation for the account and endpoint in use.
Quotas and fallback
AI requests are governed by Forge quota counters, including per-site and global monthly limits. Quota reservation and concurrency are best effort; a failed or interrupted reservation may affect the available allowance. If AI is unavailable, unconfigured, or quota-limited, deterministic generation remains available.
Your choices
Use deterministic customer mode when you do not want Jira-derived content sent to an AI provider. Review and edit every draft before sharing it. For privacy questions or requests about this product, contact info@lucapalonca.com.
