Support and troubleshooting
Last updated: 26 August 2026. Jira Release Notes Lite is a Jira Cloud Forge app. For help, email info@lucapalonca.com. When you contact support, include the Jira Cloud site, project, mode, and exact error text—but do not include secrets or issue content unless you have permission.
Setup
- Install the app from its Atlassian Marketplace listing when the listing is available.
- Open it from a Jira project page and allow it to detect the project.
- Start with the completed-issues JQL or select a version using the advanced Version option.
- Generate the deterministic draft, then edit, copy, or download the Markdown.
The Marketplace install link is intentionally not published here until there is a verified public listing.
Common problems
No project or issues appear. Confirm that you opened the app from the intended project and that your Jira user can browse the project and issues. Check the JQL, status, dates, and version selection.
The version list is empty. Use the JQL-first path and check that the project contains the expected version. The Version option is an advanced selector, not a requirement.
The result is incomplete. A generation can include up to 200 deterministic issues, depending on the selected limit. Narrow the JQL or split the release into smaller, reviewable queries. AI-assisted rewriting supports up to 100 issues.
AI is unavailable or quota-limited. AI configuration is deployment/operator-managed. Contact support if AI is unavailable or you cannot access the configuration; otherwise check the app’s remaining Forge allowance. AI is optional; generate the deterministic draft instead.
The Markdown needs changes. That is expected: the output is an editable draft. Review grouping, wording, sensitive details, and links before sharing.
AI configuration and privacy
The app uses the read:jira-work scope and your signed-in Jira permissions. Choose AI only after the deterministic result exists. Customer AI excludes issue descriptions and caller-supplied Markdown; it sends only structured issue keys, summaries, and grouping fields to OpenAI. Technical mode can include descriptions only after the in-app confirmation. AI configuration is deployment/operator-managed; contact support if the optional AI mode is unavailable. Choose deterministic customer mode if you do not want Jira-derived content sent to an AI provider.
