Software Engineer - Research Fellowship
Research Fellowship at The University of Milan-Bicocca
As a Software Engineer at the University of Milan-Bicocca, I was awarded a six-month research fellowship to develop a prototype of a search engine for companies to search for PhD candidates. This project aimed to provide companies with a more efficient and effective way to find the right candidates for their open positions.
During my fellowship, I made significant contributions to the project, including:
-
Achieving a 25% improvement in search accuracy: I fine-tuned algorithms and introduced logic operators in the semantic search engine, which significantly enhanced the ability of the engine to match candidates with relevant positions.
-
Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to integrate user feedback: I actively collaborated with teams from different disciplines, including computer science, linguistics, and human-computer interaction, to gather user feedback and incorporate it into the design and development of the search engine prototype. This collaborative approach led to a 15% increase in user satisfaction with the prototype.
Overall, my research fellowship at the University of Milan-Bicocca provided me with valuable experience in developing search engines, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and gathering and incorporating user feedback. My contributions to the project helped to advance the development of a more efficient and user-friendly search engine for companies to search for PhD candidates.
